Hello friends

I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Rebecca Harmon, I am a ceramicist from Western North Carolina. I began making pottery during the pandemic, selling mugs out of my garage. During college at Oregon State University, I honed my skill in my school’s studio. I’m currently in the process of setting up my at home studio in Columbia, South Carolina, where my husband and I just bought a house. I specialize in wheel thrown mugs with hand pulled handles. Each piece is unique and handmade by me, and I am constantly trying out new designs and styles. Much of my inspiration comes from my time spent barefoot in the woods, mostly in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of my favorite things are mushrooms, ferns, bears, and my two pugs Frank and Calvin!

I love pottery because it has taught me a lot about patience and taking the time to give detail to each unique piece. The process of taking the wet clay to a wheel thrown form, a trimmed, then dried, then fired, and glazed fired piece, reminds me of life’s intricacies and the details of every individual’s life. I’m reminded of how God is a perfect potter who wastes nothing in our lives, while I myself am a very messy one.

I hope as you scroll through my work that you see a reflection of the creativity of the Lord!
